Michael Karanicolas

Michael is Executive Director of the Institute for Technology, Law & Policy at UCLA, a joint initiative of the School of Law and the Samueli School of Engineering. His work deals with the governance of digital technologies, freedom of expression, and access to information. He was previously a Wikimedia Fellow at Yale Law School’s Information Society Project, and spent years at the Centre for Law and Democracy in Halifax, Canada, working on international standards for free expression and transparency. He took part in CELE’s online symposium on regulatory threats with the post “When does the bully pulpit become regular bullying?”.
