Joan Barata

Joan works on freedom of expression, media regulation, and platform governance. He is a Senior Legal Fellow at The Future of Free Speech and collaborates with the Program on Platform Regulation at Stanford’s Cyber Policy Center. He was principal adviser to the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media and has held regulatory and academic positions in Spain, in addition to consulting for international organisations on media regulation and free expression. He took part in CELE’s online symposium on regulatory threats with the post “Threatening dynamics on Internet governance: the case of Europe and the Digital Services Act (DSA)”.
